The sculpture is composed of plastic bottle caps washed ashore after their journey in the ocean and LED Lights. This work of art is intended to raise awareness of the overwhelming amount of plastic which is endangering sea life and our environment.

Greed
Balancing the Economy.
Balancing what we take from nature with what we give back, becomes ever more important. We should find ways to generate profit and value from when nature is alive.

In this work, I wanted to depict greed leading to the destruction of nature. Whilst striving for wealth, success and power, humans damage nature. I used the outline of a man in a business suit, juxtaposed in neon blue, to detach him from the surrounding organic materials and connect him with the ideas of consumerism. I took influence from Bruce Nauman and Tracey Erwin’s use of neon lights in their works.
